Carolyn Meighan – Partner, Perth

Carolyn Meighan has been appointed Partner of our Perth office, recognising her more than 20 years of experience across property, strata, commercial, and litigation matters, as well as her pivotal role in establishing and growing our Western Australian practice since joining the firm.

Carolyn’s extensive legal career spans:

• property and strata titles
• planning and development
• employment
• competition and consumer law
• contractual disputes
• debt recovery and enforcement
• statutory interpretation and construction

Carolyn’s deep expertise in property and strata law has seen her advise on leasing, tenancy disputes, easements, caveats, mortgages, sale contracts and a wide range of complex property interests. She is highly regarded in the strata sector, regularly advising strata companies, managers and lot owners on governance, by-laws and the interaction between lots and common property. Carolyn has appeared as counsel before the State Administrative Tribunal and has represented clients in the Supreme Court, Federal Court and High Court of Australia.

As Vice President of Strata Community Australia (WA), Carolyn is recognised as a leading voice in the Western Australian strata industry. Known for her pragmatic, outcomes-focused approach, she works closely with clients to understand their commercial objectives and achieve efficient, cost-effective results.

Julia Moroz – Partner, Melbourne

Julia Moroz has been appointed Partner in our Melbourne office, recognising her significant contribution to our Victorian practice and her leadership in establishing Bugden Allen’s national property insurance litigation offering.

Julia is a highly accomplished commercial litigator with extensive experience handling complex, high-value disputes across construction, real property, and insurance. Her background includes several years at a top-tier international law firm, developing deep expertise in technically challenging and commercially sensitive matters.

She has acted in major litigation across Western Australia, Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, and Tasmania, representing:

• corporate and commercial clients
• government bodies
• insurers, reinsurers, and brokers
• national and international enterprises involved in multi-party disputes

Julia’s practice includes contractual disputes, professional negligence claims, property damage litigation, regulatory investigations, subrogated recoveries, and matters involving complex technical liability and expert evidence.

Clients value her strategic thinking, clarity in navigating complex issues, and capacity to manage pressure with confidence. Julia advises across the full lifecycle of disputes—from early risk assessment and negotiation through to trial and resolution.

Julia’s appointment positions our Melbourne practice strongly for continued growth as Bugden Allen approaches four years in Victoria.
