Description

We are an award-winning national law firm that specialises in property, development, commercial law, and strata and community titles. Our Brisbane practice is looking for an experienced paralegal or Legal Secretary to join our team.

You will be supporting a small and collaborative team of lawyers across our litigation, advisory and conveyancing practices. You will be working with industry leading property developers, international clients, investors and strata stakeholders.

The role is full time and based in our Brisbane office at 200 Mary Street. Our firm has a flexible “family-first” approach to working, so after your probationary period, you may want to move towards a hybrid way of working after discussing this with your manager.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will join a team that will be supporting 2 partners and 4 lawyers. The work will be wide-ranging and includes:

  • Opening and closing client matters
  • Running conflict checks
  • Filing documents and emails (electronically)
  • Preparing fee proposals
  • Organising client meetings
  • Conducting online searches such as title deeds and company searches
  • Assisting with some conveyancing matters
  • Assisting with preparing client invoices, and
  • Other general administrative duties as directed by the legal staff.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience working in a law firm (required)
  • Experience working on property / real estate related matters
  • Experience managing conveyancing matters (preferred)
  • An organised and meticulous approach to your work
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills required for maintaining a positive team environment

Package

An attractive remuneration package will be offered to the right candidate. Along with a competitive base salary, our fee earners are also offered an incentive based on billable targets in accordance with our Staff Incentive Program. We have some of the most conservative, and achievable billing targets in the industry as we recognise the importance of striking a balance between our employees work and life commitments.
